UPDATE 6/7/2011: Due to recently having my 2nd child & realizing I am a bit busier than before, I've chosen to close my Kiddo Cakes doors until I feel the time is right.
I try to give my customers the attention they deserve and lately I don't feel I'm able to even give my family the time they deserve. So although it's possible I'll return to the cake world once my children are much older, as of now, this is Goodbye!

Welcome to Kiddo Cakes! My name is Maricela Galvan, but you can call me Mari if you'd like.
I am a 29 year-old mother & a wife who loves to create cakes! I originally began cake decorating about a year after my aunt Kathy suddenly passed away with cancer in November of 2004. She created all my cakes as a kid and although I remember nothing of my parties, I remember every single cake! They were each masterpieces! I later realized many kids weren't fortunate enough to have an aunt like mine, so instead they were given grocery store sheet cakes with a few sprinkles and corner roses. Now, I know cakes aren't the most important part of kid's lives, but they sure do create awesome memories! I started with the idea I'd learn to create cakes so that when I had children I could be good enough to do theirs, but little did I know cake decorating would become an addiction! After only one local class and the chance to do friend's and family's cakes for a couple years, I launched "Kiddo Cakes by Mari" in 2008. I am still an amateur compared to some very talented people out there, but I hope you'll see my gallery of cakes & give me the opportunity to create your next memory!
