So I am going to be honest with you. The hardest part of cake decorating is probably the part where I have to charge my customers. I know the prices can sometimes shock people, but once I explain how much work has to go into these cakes, everyone pretty much understands. Not only are there the costs of ingredients, but there are also the costs of materials and anywhere from 4 to 30 hours of labor that go into each cake! I really try my best to make my cakes affordable, but please see my cakes as works of art, that just happen to be something beautiful you can eat!
Buttercream cakes start at $2 per serving
Fondant cakes start at $3 per serving
**Serving sizes are per the cake cutting guide's 1.5 x 2 in. slices**
These are the base charges for all cakes, but due to each cake being different they will vary.
If you're wondering what the difference is between the icings, here is a brief description of each:
Buttercream Icing is a very sweet icing that is used to both coat and fill a cake if desired. It can also be piped out to create different designs and borders. It can be used to create an image on a cake but cannot create as perfect details as can be done with fondant.
Fondant Icing is used to give cakes a smooth, clean appearance. It includes gelatin and food-grade glycerine, which keeps the sugar pliable and creates a dough-like consistency. It is rolled out like a pie crust and used to cover the cake which later hardens. It is also used to make the details on a cake look more realistic. Fondant cakes have a regular layer of buttercream underneath which acts as glue to adhere the fondant to the cake, therefore you won't be missing out on any of the sweetness that buttercream provides!
Many people have heard horror stories about fondant due to it's chewy, not-so-great taste. Although unlike many cake decorators/bakeries who use pre-made fondant bought in bulk, mostly because of the large quantity of cakes they have to make, I make my own homemade fondant! I believe it makes all the difference since it has a light vanilla flavor and makes the cake taste as great as it looks!
Booking & Cancellation Policy - for all cakes other than Wedding Cakes
Due to only accepting 3 to 4 cakes per weekend, I seem to book up very fast. I like to take time on each cake I create, so I don't accept more than I can handle. I do accept orders months in advance, but to hold your date, I require a non-refundable deposit of $20. You will not be marked on my calendar until the $20 is paid. This amount will go toward your balance if you continue with your order, but will not be reimbursed if you cancel. Half of the total order (minus the $20) is due 3 weeks before your order date. The other half is due upon pick-up.
Booking & Cancellation Policy - for Wedding Cakes
If you are placing an order for a wedding cake, there is a $50 non-refundable deposit to hold your date. This amount will go towards your balance if you continue with your order, but will not be reimbursed if you cancel. Half of the total order (minus the $50) is due 2 months prior to the wedding date, and the other half is due 2 weeks before. The reason for this is because I usually block off the entire weekend for 1 wedding cake, therefore if you choose to cancel, I will have lost 4 orders for that one weekend.
Cake Tastings

By Appointment Only
Up to 4 Flavors & Fillings $20
If you then place an order and your total is $100-$199, $10 goes toward your order.
If your total cake order is $200+, $20 goes towards your order.
Appointments for Cake Tastings are usually only made for Monday or Tuesday evenings at 6 pm or later, but I will try to arrange something for you if this is not possible.
